Hotel Embassy is located in a prestigious and central position
in the historical centre of Rome, few steps from Via Veneto and
Villa Borghese, and not far from Termini railway station. From the
Hotel it’s very easy to reach on foot most of the historical
and artistic points of interest of Rome, from Spanish steps to the
Trevi Fountain.

Surroundings of Hotel Embassy are full of history and culture of
Rome:
Nearby the hotel, just on the right corner you can visit the Church
of St. Maria della Vittoria, a Baroque church, started
in 1608 by Carlo Maderno, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin. Inside
the Cornaro Chapel (on the left transept), there’s one of
the best Baroque sculptures in Rome : Bernini's Ecstasy of St. Theresa
of Avila, one of Bernini's most well-known works.
On the opposite street is the Church of S.Susanna which is a church
dedicated to St. Susan and national church of the USA. This beautiful
Baroque masterpiece was designed by Carlo Maderno, and finished
in 1603, few years before he started to work on the façade
of St. Peter in Vaticano.

On the left of the Hotel, just five minutes walking,you will find
the Via Veneto (Veneto street), well-know all over
the world for the most famous Fellini’s movies, “La
dolce vita”, describing the “sweet life” of Via
Veneto, one of the main streets of Rome, especially for its cafés,
restaurants and shops.
This street, during the Roman Imperial Age , included some of the
most luxurious villas of Rome, belonged to prominent people such
as Julius Caesar and Sallustio,and the district's golden age coincided
with the Baroque age. Nowadays Via Veneto with its cafés,
hotels and luxury shops, is the heart of a world with no geographical
frontiers.
Few meters far from Via Veneto is the Church of S.Patrizio,
dedicated to St. Patrick, apostle and patron of Ireland. It is national
church of Ireland. Lots of couples from Ireland have their weddind
there, in a very special atmosphere.
Fountain of the Bees

At the end of Via Veneto at Barberini square you can see two beautiful
fountains: the Fontana del Tritone and the Fontana
delle Api . The first one (Triton Fountain) , is a work by Bernini
(1642), located just in the center of the square; the composition,
four dolphins which support two valves on which is seated a triton
who blows water through a shell held up in his hands, is an happy
example of Roman Baroque. The second one, the Fontana delle
Api, incorporates the bees (api), from the coat of arms
of Barberini, is another baroque work of Bernini (1644).
Just on the corner of Barberini square you can visit the Barberini
Palace. Inside this historical building there is the “Galleria
Nazionale d’Arte Antica”, a beautiful Gallery with masterpieces
of Raffaello, Caravaggio, Bernini, and many others.
View from Villa Borghese

At the top of Via Veneto, just ten minutes walking and you’ll
see the main park of Rome: Villa Borghese. This
villa is a beautiful and extended park, characterised by walkways,
woods (It contains 400 newly-planted pine trees, garden sculptures
by Bernini’s father, Pietro, and dramatic water works built
by Giovanni Fontana) and lakes (In the centre of the park, is the
“Giardino del Lago” in which stays an artificial lake
complete with an Ionic temple to Aesculapius, the god of health,
by the 18C architect Antonio Asprucci).
From Belvedere Pincio there is a magnificent view of the town. In
this area you can visit three important Museums of Rome: the National
Gallery of Modern Art (which includes works by Goya, Renoir, Van
Gogh, Degas, Monet, and many more) the Etruscan Museum and the Borghese
Gallery with the famous baroque sculptures by Bernini.

A part of the Villa is dedicated to the recently renewed Zoo (Bioparco),
destination loved by adults and children.
Just few blocks far from the hotel you have the possibility to admire
the ancient Baths of Emperor Diocletian, the wonderful Basilica
of St. Mary of the Angels by Michelangelo and fascinating Naiadi
Fountain in centre of Piazza della Repubblica.
Ten minutes walking from the Hotel you can visit two most famous
sights of Rome: Trevi Fountain and Piazza di Spagna (Spanish
Steps).
Spanish Steps

The Trevi Fountain , one of the symbol of the Eternal City, is a
Baroque masterpiece. The fountain has a scenographical effect, guaranteed
by the restricted space of the surrounding, which presents itself
as a theatre. The central niche depicts Neptune riding a chariot
driven by sea horses and the water flows over rocks before collecting
in a pool below.
According to legend, if you throw a coin into the water by expressing
a wish, the wish will become true and you will certainly return
to Rome.
Piazza di Spagna it’s one of the most beautiful square in
Rome and the famous Spanish Steps are one of Rome’s most famous
sights, thanks to their popularity as meeting point and to the position
at the heart of the city’s shopping area. From the upper terrace
there is an excellent view of the city.
The strategic position of Hotel Embassy offers you an excellent
starting point to visit all other monuments and museums of Rome;
St. Peter

just few meters far from the hotel there’s the subway station
of Repubblica which can get you to St. Peter’s square, Vatican
Museums and Colosseum in less than ten-fifteen minutes.
Vatican area will surprise the visitor with its unique charm, thanks
to the majesty of St. Peter Basilica, the Vatican
Museums, the Sistine Chapel, the Raphael Rooms, the S.Angelo Castle
which draws pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.
The famous Colosseum, the big Arch of Costantin
and the fascinating Roman Forum capture the visitor’s imagination
with their archaeological sites. Quite close to Palatine hill, you
will find the well-known Emperor Nero’s golden house, the
Domus Aurea. In Fori Imperiali street you can also discover the
ancient Trajan’s Forum and the Forum Caesar. Then you will
enter in the spectacular Venice Square, with its imposing Victor
Emmanuel II Monument and the National Shrine.
